Martha WarringtonMartha Warrington has been a member of the Oregon Symphony viola section since 1984. A native Oregonian, Martha grew up in Grants Pass, then attended Stanford University and Principia College. She completed her M.A. Degree at the University of Portland. After graduating from college, Martha became a member of the North Carolina Symphony and soon moved to a position with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. After moving to Toronto, Canada, she was a member of the Cecelia String Quartet, which at that time was Canada's only all-female professional string quartet. She was also a member of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Returning to Portland to be near her family, Martha played in the Portland Opera Orchestra and as Principal Violist of the West Coast Chamber Orchestra before joining the Oregon Symphony. An active teacher in the Portland area, Martha teaches violin and viola and coaches string quartets.
