_DSC3063 (2)Violinist HAE-JIN KIM received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in violin performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music where she studied with Oleh Krysa and Zvi Zeitlin. While she was at the Eastman School, she was awarded a prestigious Performer’s Certificate and the Starling Award Scholarship, and was a featured violinist at the Kilbourn Concert Series, “Bright Lights and Rising Stars”. As a founding member and first violinist of the Artesan String Quartet, she performed in numerous concerts in New York including in a joint concert with the Ying Quartet. She has appeared in Sherman Clay Piano’s “Arts for Ears” Concert series as violinist of the Ars Nova Trio, and has also been a member of the Pacifica Trio and Asiana String Quartet. A native of South Korea, Hae-Jin has been a featured soloist with the Gwang-Ju Symphony Orchestra, and has also played in the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Oratorio Society Orchestra and Brockport Symphony. She is a dedicated violin instructor in the Portland area, is the violinist of the Artisan Piano Trio and Free Marz String Trio, and performs with the Portland Opera Orchestra, Oregon Symphony, NW New Music, and Oregon Ballet Theatre Orchestra.
